Change is in the Air!

The Women's Association is excited about the prospects of changing the meeting format to attract new members. Dianne Schmitigal gave a summary presentation of the brainstorming session she and Theora Bosley held in April.  Letters of invitation were sent to every woman in the church and the meeting was held at the church on Monday evening, April 28th, to accommodate those ladies employed during the day. The turn-out was gratifying and the response to the presentation was well received. Judy Wright provided information on the Proverbs 31 Ministries as a possible program of interest.  Surveys were completed to determine desirable meeting times and levels of leadership commitment. The date and time for the May meeting will be announced.

YOUTH MINISTRY!

On April 12th Bonnie Waters & Jamie Leach participated in a one-day intensive Core training sponsored by Youth Specialties. The focus of the training was on three "realities" (humility, diversity, and sanctuary) and how each applies to dealing with youth today. Being with so many youth workers in one location, working to improve their ministries as an inspiring experience! Time was provided to share ideas as well as to apply techniques suggested by the leader, Mark Oestreicher.
The following week a letter went to each of the parents of  6th-12th grade youth who attend Stalwart Presbyterian Church to determine whether interest warrants beginning a weekly youth group and/or Sunday School class for this age group.  Follow-up phone inquiries will be made the first week in May.
     Please pray for this ministry!
